In Western culture, particularly in the United States, we are often taught to fear failure and to avoid discussing our failures. This mindset is incompatible with losing weight for the last time; which is a process where you need to be willing to take a look at why you failed to avoid making that same mistake again.
In my latest podcast on Why you think it’s impossible to lose weight, I discuss how to leverage failure in order to learn what worked, what didn't work and what you will do differently on a weekly basis.
It's a learning process; but fortunately, you are the one in control. That's liberating, empowering, and also a little scary because we are not used to thinking that way. Now is the time to ask yourself: What are YOU willing to do to get to your goal? Then, do it, and know it’s OK to do it afraid.
Losing weight for the last time, like any other worthwhile goal requires learning from your failures and past mistakes so you can get to your goal. This is difficult to do on your own; and if you are like me you've tried that already. Why not get help with a coach and learn the tools you need to make permanent weight loss a goal you that is possible for you.
