Welcome to Weird Distractions. Join me, Alex, every Sunday morning to distract yourself from whatever is bugging you - maybe work is stressful, or perhaps your in laws are driving you batty. Whatever your need for a distraction may be, I got you.

Each week, I rotate between discussing true crime cases, conspiracy theories, paranormal stories, folklore tales and more. Why? Well, these are topics I want to learn more about, so why not distract from everyday life and learn something from the macabre side of life.

The show started in 2020 alongside former cohost and best friend, Christie. Now I will guide you into discussing cold cases, haunted hospitals, online conspiracy theories, and all things weird. This week, Alex heads on over to the UK to discuss the infamous Black Monk House hauntings from Pontefract, Britain. It was August of 1966, a probable warm day in Pontefract - when a family home would become terrorized by an unseen force. Pictures slashed, random puddles formed, mysterious knockings from within - it all became a fearful series of events. But then, as quick as it came - the weirdness disappeared. Kristin O’Connell was only 20 years old when, in August of 1985 she was discovered brutally murdered whilst visiting a friend in Ovid, New York, USA. It’s been 37 long years, and there have been no arrests or charges laid, making Kristin’s unsolved homicide case go seemingly cold. Who murdered Kristin O’Connell? Alex is back hosting the show solo and she’s got a mysterious disappearance case to tackle. Sara Nicole Graham was only 18 years old when she disappeared on her way to work in February of 2015. Her white van was found over 5 hours after she left home for her shift in a wheat field - abandoned. As we inch towards a decade of Sara’s disappearance, the case has seemingly gone cold.
