What can we say, other than welcome to Weirdquel, the podcast that covers the weirdest sequels, prequels, spinoffs, and reboots ever made!?

Double Toasted's resident Cat Daddy film critic, Martin Thomas, joins co-hosts Mike Moody Garcia and Manny Benavides to kick off our Weird Superhero Summer series. The series covers three of the most bizarre yet oddly intriguing superhero movies ever made. It all starts with director Sam Raimi's capper to his Spider-Man film trilogy, released in 2007.

Does Spider-Man 3 deserve it's rep as one of the worst superhero movies of all time? That's the big question on our minds as we explore Tobey Maguire's final starring outing as Spidey. We also choose the movie's weirdest scene, weirdest quote, and its most egregious franchise f*ck up.

And, hey, it's the first episode. Do we miss a few things? Probably. Do we waste time on tangential discussions about The Godfather Part III and Spike Lee? Definitely. We're still calming the nerves, trying to nail the tone, and generally figuring it all out. So go easy.
