Just over a year ago, the supreme court overruled Roe v Wade. The decision left us with zero federal abortion rights. Here in Wisconsin, our access to abortion is governed by a law from 1849. That law bans abortion unless the life of the mother is at risk and has been challenged in court. Its fate will likely be decided by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Over the last year, we’ve talked about abortion a lot on this show. One of our favorite guests is comedian and abortion advocate Lizz Winstead. She is able to find humor in what feels like a dark place. She joins Ali Muldrow to talk about draconian abortion bans, comprehensive sex ed, and the national fight for abortion access.
Lizz Winstead is a comedian, co-creator of The Daily Show, and founder of Abortion Access Front. She hosts a talk show called Feminist Buzzkills Live.
