With the Garveys and Olesons now living in Winoka, everyone seems to be settling in. All except Charles who hates living in the city, Caroline who is essentially living in the hotel kitchen, Alice who's trying to start a school in a Livery, Jonathan whose unemployed, Mr.Oleson is helping to manage the saloon while also housing his family inside and Harriet who has become a barmaid to send her kids to the elite private school. The only people who seem to be getting by are Mary and Adam Kendall over at the school for the blind.  Meanwhile, Albert is still up to his usually life style choices, thievery and shinning shoes.  As everyone continues to try and acclimate to the city life there is plans for Mary's Sweet Sixteen...nothing yells out happy birthday like presents, cake, cards, music and a bloodied and battered Charles. What is Harriet’s work schedule since the Saloon mostly functions at night?  Will Young Boy Standish learn that you don't miss with a Country Girl? When will Charles learn he is a Farmer not a fighter?
