Every story on earth is really a version of one of two narratives: (1) stranger leaves town, or (2) stranger comes to town. The gospel invites us to find our place in both narratives. As we learn to embrace our identity as stranger (headed toward our home, which is God), we can grow empathy for the stranger in our midst.
