We’ll always last

Listen Later

We’ll always last

Leaves are few, mostly blowing; birds are flocking soon they’ll

be going

And another year of opportunities will be blanketed in white

as it’s snowing

Months go by, surroundings change, shuffle the furniture,

and rearrange

No matter the background when you’re not here the whole

place seems strange

Look up and down the street at the new faces, been here so

long all that remain are traces

Walk my dogs and greet neighbors, I see you in my mind as I

bend down to tie my shoelaces

This is where we should be holding hands, walking along

laughing babe remember our plans?

To see you drive up to the house would cause me to go down

that street doing handstands

You’re the glow from a nice warm fire, throwing off warmth

and light

You’re the arms that fulfill my desire, make me loose yet

hold me tight

You’re the ebb and the flow, you’re my tide, drink you in or

go for a ride

You’re my future and my past, you always come first and babe

we’ll always last

We’ll always last

Babies cry and the pain just grows, forsaking your sanity

eventually shows

Close your eyes and picture a perfect day that comes and

then never goes

Money and evil share a room, seemingly pushing you closer to

your doom

But baby we’re not ready for the end, and we’re not heading

for our tomb

You’re the glow from a nice warm fire, throwing off warmth

and light

You’re the arms that fulfill my desire, make me loose yet

hold me tight

You’re the ebb and the flow, you’re my tide, drink you in or

go for a ride

You’re my future and my past, you always come first and babe

we’ll always last

We’ll always last
