Well-traveled highways across trampled dreams

Listen Later

Well-traveled

highways across trampled dreams

Well-traveled

highways across trampled dreams

Tragedy

showers the plans we made it seems

Again, we’ve

been stalled at this critical juncture

Unforeseen delays

that always seem to puncture

The panorama,

paranoia, pandemonium, patience

Deliberation,

determination, destination vacations

Lose the

broken record of the tired too-worn reasons

Catch as many

falling stars that you see across the seasons

Tomorrows

turning into memories we spent together

Flocking

close, laughing watching the birds of a feather

So snap go

the fingers brings you around alert and about

Remembering,

recovering, relaxing, removing any doubt

Clearly back

on well-traveled highways across trampled dreams

No worries,

no hitches, eyes fixed squarely on headlight beams

Ready to roll

into the joint that’s been ready to spark

Just the

sound of arrival brings sunshine over the dark

Ice melts,

eyes dry, hearts pound, breaths quicken, passion

No problems,

no hunger, no longing, smiles are flashin’

Jaws drop,

crow served, eyes follow a couple so well fit

Low lights, silhouettes,

soft sounds, recompense all of it

Lonely times,

empty holes where so many grins belong

Despite best

made plans, like mice and men went wrong

Still, we

trudged down the well-traveled highways across trampled dreams

Chasing down

the beacon of hope we’ve been clinging to, and it still gleams

No matter how

faint you’ve got to follow the beating of your heart

Straight to

your lovers arms to go where you wanted from the start

When you

first hit the well-traveled highway across trampled dreams

Looking for

our day
