There is a delicate balance that can be really difficult to maintain. We must remain meaningfully engaged in the culture without losing our moral distinctiveness. We must cooperate with the demands of government while peacefully trying to infiltrate it with the good news of Jesus.

Surrender and service always go together, the two cannot be separated. It's impossble to be surrendered to God, and not be all about serving Him. We can't be a living sacrifice and be indifferent toward serving others. God has placed gifts and abilities within every one of us for the purpose of unifying and building up His Body and to bring Him glory.

Through the account of Cain and Abel we see how quickly the curse of sin took hold of mankind and the damaging effects that came along with that. These effects lead to Cain murdering Abel, however, his sin did not begin there but grew into Cain murdering his brother, Abel. Unfortunately we see the same progression in people's lives today. We don't have to take the same route as Cain. With confession and repentance there is forgiveness in Jesus. Not only that, the Church can be there for each other when we fall into these sins.
