Winner of so much in his time at TNS, inducted into the hall of fame, player of the season, capped at both semi pro and full international level for Wales. Steve Evans provided the security in defence that was the bedrock of huge success throughout the years at the club, helping to dominate Welsh football. We talk about how it started and where he sees himself in the future. One of the greats of the welsh premier league.
Recently reached a fine milestone of 200+ Welsh premier goals during the 20/21 season and finished with the golden boot, in which he has 5. No signs of slowing down, starting as a central midfielder and working his way forward to enhance his goalscoring repertoire. Welsh cup winner, several appearances and goals to his name in Europe also. One of the most consistent players to have played in the league and doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon. A tough competitor, we discuss what made him into the player he is, his team mates and managers along the way and chat all things current too.
For me one of the standout players of the last 20 years. Golden boot winner, top goalscorer for Welsh Premier players in European competitions, multiple winner of domestic cups and now has 9 Welsh Premier winners medals. We talk about influences, what drives him to continue playing for the next few years and his thoughts on possibly making the step into management.
A career spanning 31 years, I welcome Tony Pennock. Hundreds of appearances for several English clubs throughout the divisions with over 300 starts in all competitions for Yeovil. A spell in the Welsh Premier league with Carmarthen, Port talbot and Neath plus a short spell with Aberystwyth. We discuss his early memories, his favourite goalkeepers and his coaching journey where he has finished the 20/21 season as champions of the first division with Hull City. He managed the Welsh semi pro team, where we were also both team mates many years ago.
I discuss Martyn Naylor's early years, his determination to stay in the game after a couple of setbacks as a youth player. A serial winner in his time with TNS, a player that was consistently in the team of the year each season. A flying right back that was excellent at set plays and got his fair share of important goals. Great team player and an infectious energy to his personality.
Top of the all time scoring charts in Welsh football. Clinical, precise and a deadly finisher of all types of goals. Scored a few headers too and many from outside the box, Ive been behind a few 30 yarders myself! Single minded, some might say greedy...a hunger to be the best he could and his record speaks for itself. A true natural finisher with a talent for goalscoring.
