Wendy Rowatt of Cisco: Leaning Into Your Strengths

Listen Later

In the fifth episode of Tip Jar, our guest is Wendy Rowatt. She is the Program Manager of Cisco's Leaders in Finance & Technology Program (LIFT), a rotational program to help grow the next-generation of finance leaders. Having earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University, Wendy started off her journey as an accountant before pivoting into tech. Before arriving to her current role as Program Manager, Wendy held previous roles as a Chief of Staff for EVP of Human Resources at Verisign and later transitioned to Cisco where she initially started as an Accounting Consolidations Consultant. We discuss the importance of finding mentors, leaning into one's strengths, avoiding mistakes in interviews, and asking questions to help us all find our own definition of balance.
