In the eighth episode of Tip Jar, our guest is Harsimran Chohan. She is a senior at Sacred Heart Preparatory in Atherton and is actively involved within her school community. An advocate of financial literacy, Harsimran has given two TEDx Talks on the subject and continues to give back by partnering with the Sammy Rabbit platform as a guest writer. In the future, Harsimran aspires to pursue a career in psychology or law. We discuss what inspires her to advocate for financial literacy, lessons learned from a special mentor, and ways to cultivate mindfulness in our everyday lives.

In the seventh episode of Tip Jar, our guest is Will Rainey. He is the founder of Blue Tree Savings where he creates video lessons, workshops, and writings with the aim to help parents teach their kids about money. Before starting Blue Tree Savings, Will worked internationally in the financial services industry where he was the Head of Investment Strategy in Asia at Towers Watson. His inspiration for Blue Tree Savings came from hearing those around him feel uneasy about the thought of taking time off work while still maintaining financial freedom. We discuss the differences between being rich and wealthy, the importance of patience when it comes to habit-building, and his colorful way of viewing investing as planting "seeds" today to result in a strong financial "forest" for the future.

In the sixth episode of Tip Jar, our guest is Sam X Renick. He is the founder and author of Sammy Rabbit, a book series for kids to teach them important money habits early in their development. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelors degree in business, Sam got his start in the aerospace industry and later transitioned into the financial services sector where he had a chance encounter with a salesman that inspired him with a purpose to teach and spread financial literacy to others. We discuss delayed gratification during a time of TikTok/IG reels, building strong money habits early and the importance of being a lifelong learner.

In the fifth episode of Tip Jar, our guest is Wendy Rowatt. She is the Program Manager of Cisco's Leaders in Finance & Technology Program (LIFT), a rotational program to help grow the next-generation of finance leaders. Having earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University, Wendy started off her journey as an accountant before pivoting into tech. Before arriving to her current role as Program Manager, Wendy held previous roles as a Chief of Staff for EVP of Human Resources at Verisign and later transitioned to Cisco where she initially started as an Accounting Consolidations Consultant. We discuss the importance of finding mentors, leaning into one's strengths, avoiding mistakes in interviews, and asking questions to help us all find our own definition of balance.

He is the founder and Chief Education Officer of FinLit Tech, an organization whose mission is to "build a bridge between financial literacy and financial technology." A proud alumni of the University of Maryland, Mac wears many hats by being both a Certified Financial Planner and an author. He has written two books titled Motivate Your Money and The Four Money Bears with the latter being geared towards helping children understand the why and how behind their financial decisions. We discuss how he got his start in the financial services industry, what inspired him to write The Four Money Bears for kids, and how embracing the journey can lead to positive change in our lives.
