According to a 2022 YouGov poll: 67% of Americans believe they have had a paranormal experience.

Ghosts: 41% of Americans believe in ghosts, and 20% say they have encountered one. Women are more likely to have had a personal experience with a ghost than men.

Attorney Lisa Martin and Journalist Joshua Heston host Dark Ozarks. Both are explorers, researchers and investigators of all things paranormal in the Ozarks.

Call it fate or synchronicity, their first meeting was in a cemetery. The book I landed on in my spontaneous search for paranormal news will be their first co-writing endeavor. Due out in 2024, their topic is the Joplin Spooklight. Source.

Why is the site popular with ghost hunters?

"Visits by paranormal investigators have provided audio, video and photographic proof of paranormal activity. Tours have been cut short by children's voices, falling lamps, moving ladders and flying objects. Psychics have confirmed the presence of spirits dwelling in the home and many have actually communicated with them, and skeptics have left believers."

It is a combination of the season and a recent death that triggered an impromptu medium session. Then there was a ghost encounter during a short vacation.

1. As Andy's sister drove to Kansas City for their father's funeral she passed an area and received a telepathic message saying she was carrying the ancestors with her.

We talked and I received a name. The name did belong to a relative - and the location where she heard that message is the origin of that part of their family.

2. I also relate a story about an early warning given to me by my guides as I was first learning to channel. They instructed me to educate myself on mesmerism and said it would be useful. And shortly after I studied up on that practice, I discovered I needed to know what to do when someone attempted to use it on me - without any kind of advance notice. Definition: Britannica. 

Synchronicity -

1. Your perception in regard to time is influenced by the culture you have been raised in. The future is relative. 2. The story I include at the close of this conversation relates to the issue of belief and how very important is it to know your own state of mind and how easy it can be to be influenced.

John Foster checked in to let me know he is the subject of a documentary in progress and said some of his co-experiencers had been contacted. He includes Fred Zewe, Assistant Director for Nebraska MUFON, among them. 

Fred offers highlights gleaned from from personal experience and individual MUFON cases. Waking while being levitated from your bed is an experience that can be hard to reconcile. Knowing something more has happened that you can't remember might be even more difficult. Fred is also a member of the Experiencer Resource Team. ERT is dedicated to helping experiencers deal with Alien contact.

UFO encounters and abduction experiences have been reported for centuries. Often described as highly personal and transformative events, experiencers report a wide range of responses. Awe, wonder, fear. They may report having been physically or mentally affected by the experience, such as experiencing missing time, strange sensations, or recurring dreams. Ghosts don't require your belief to exist.

Terry McKenzie and his wife didn't believe in ghosts when they acquired a historic residence in need of updating. Once they began spending time restoring the house and  then moving in, they had changed their mind. The clues they got about the house being occupied were not subtle.

He now talks about living in an extremely haunted house. Again, the activity started shortly after they started work on the house. His wife didn't take it too seriously because he experienced it first. That changed when she began to experience the paranormal stuff too. A believer now, she does not stay alone in the house overnight.

The atmosphere changes at night.

Terry documented some of the furnishings for insurance purposes. He took a photo of an antique dresser with a mirror in an empty room. The developed picture clearly reflected images of two people in the mirror, a man and a woman – dressed in period clothing. Holy grail for a ghost hunter. Difficult to explain or to deny. Intimidating for the current living occupant(s).

Making the most of the COVID 19 downtime. Verna K. took the opportunity to update The Ghost Tales of Weston, adding new photos and stories. She also launched a new career as a romance author. The first in a series, titled Apricot Jam, will soon be followed by 3 additional books.

Reconnecting with Verna, I wanted her to share a very important element of her personal story, the part about being diagnosed with cancer in 1995 and being told the survival rate was 1 in 8. Little did she know - ghosts were about to take center stage, starting with a haunted desk.

On that note, there is a unique audio quirk in this interview, one that I edited out of the previous version. Refusing to play second fiddle to a romance novel or my editorial oversight, the interloper opted to grandstand and waited until the entire segment was completed to play a prank.

I saved the work in progress more than once - my failsafe. Project completed and ready for the final save - the screen went blank - computer shut down - battery died - and there went the audio. Even so, the file should have been retrievable.

Nope. 

TAKE 2. I left the little ghostie in. Can't prove it is an EVP. Why is it odd? Nothing else in the audio matches this anomaly. The garbled bits of word salad coincidentally appear when the topic of discussion is The Saint George Hotel visitors seeing something unexplainable in their room overnight. Apparently, the interloper had an opinion on that. I can't decipher it.

It is what it is -- this audio file was not hijacked and corrupted. Thank you.

Psychic Impressions - Ghost Dentist - Unmistakable physical impact

My ghost encounter happened during a spontaneous visit with Mom. We decided to go out to eat. The first two places were booked. However, the ghost said he saw us at the second place, and - since he knew my mom - he decided to tag along. He described his impression of me as an abstract thinker and took that as a sign I might be able to make a connection.

There was no missing the clues he gave me.

1. Physical contact. Something poked me at the top of my hip - made me turn around in my chair to see what the heck was going on. There was a wall behind my chair. 

2. Undeniable sensation. The right side of my lower jaw and tongue became numb - exactly like it does when you are given a shot of Novocain.

3. Phone malfunction.

4. Telepathic. Given the first name: John.

5. I was awakened during the night and given the second name.

Active in the community - My mom and the dentist knew each other. She could and did corroborate the information he gave me. Even more interesting to me - the name he provided turned out to be the journalist who filed the report about this death. Link.

Psychic Medium Irma Slage has been featured on Television, including NBC, and major newspapers. She is also an author.

We've been in contact since I saw an interview several years ago. That unforgettable demonstration featured Irma, shadowed by a TV crew. She spoke about a presence and pointed to the location for the camera to focus. Later review of the footage highlighted the orb in that exact space.
