Pamela Howard Shriver is an American former professional tennis player. She currently is a tennis broadcaster for ESPN and a pundit for BBC tennis coverage. During the 1980s and 1990s, she won 133 titles, including 21 women's singles titles, 111 women's doubles titles, and one mixed doubles title. She is a mental health advocate and close with Naomi Osaka.

We are so afraid as a society to rip the bandaid off this topic in a real way. Any time you open up about something that’s controversial or taboo, the first ones through the wall get bloodied. That's why we’re doing this. We don’t mind being the ones who get bloodied. We put our stories out there well before it was the thing to do, for a reason...because as much as they’re extreme examples of how far you can fall - they show everyone that challenging life experiences impact everyone...even those of us who have reached the top of our competitive industries. Traditional media and social media - We are so quick to look for simple answers, simple explanations. We want everything wrapped in a bow, but this topic is messy. The nuances need to be explained.
