Controversial opinion incoming- STOP using burnout as a catch-all label for exhaustion, disengagement, stress, anxiety, medical issues and just generally feeling flat.In this episode, I unpack the three criteria of burnout- exhaustion, depersonalisation and reduced efficacy - and why being tired does not automatically mean you’re burnt out.I also share my own experiences with burnout, chronic fatigue and traumatic brain injury, and why I think we need to differentiate physiology, life stress and true burnout far more carefully.Because sometimes the answer isn’t “work less.” Sometimes it’s better recovery, better rhythms, better alignment and understanding what’s actually going on in your body and mind.
