Once again James stresses the importance of allowing our faith to transform our heart and way of thinking so that good fruit and good deed work their way out into our lives. Pastor Jeff Benson unpacks this passage in which James focusses in on wisdom and challenges us to make sure our ‘wisdom’ is faith based (i.e. a way of thinking which is centred on pleasing God, not on pleasing ourselves).

Guest speaker, Brad Rumble, continues our series in King with the story of Nebuchadnezzar. Through his story we further understand the importance of humility and surrender to reaching the full potential God has for us in the gifts He gives us and the purpose He invites us into.  

James’ core message in his letter to the churches is that faith in Jesus is life-changing and transformational – it ought to ‘look’ like something as God, by His Spirit, works in our hearts.  Philip Wilson spoke from the passage of James 1:13-27 continuing on from his message last week that disciples are not only to hear the word of God they are to put it into practice. Submitting to God enables disciples to resist temptation.
