Wes VanAntwerp has been playing guitar in the Ottumwa area and beyond for the past couple of decades. Sometimes he'll sneak behind a drum kit too! He has dipped his toes in many genres including grunge, rapcore, punk, and Americana. Wes opened up to us about how his religious upbringing and Nirvana greatly influenced him and touched on the struggles of smuggling Cobain-created paraphernalia into his parents home. He tells a couple of awesome tour stories, one of which involves saving a horse from certain death. We also touch on a lot of local musicians talents and how they ended up shaping him as a musician. His most recent projects include Joretta Oaks and recording several of his friends' original songs at his home.
