As the shutdowns remind us that all kids—COVID or not—are actually and always homeschooled, it’s high time we look at the industrialized model of schools, and how parents as the true headmasters of their children’s education can make the machine meaningful. The ever-expanding reach of schools into the lives of children, the time and more time that kids spend at school and school-related events, often leads to a misconception about the molding of our youth.
