We are Wesley - week 1

Love is best communicated through relationships

Monday morning Bible Study with Dr. Jeff Patterson

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding...

When we come to crossroad decisions in life, why is it important to "lean not on your own understanding" and trust God?

Unity begins in the heart

We must daily listen for the voice of Jesus to help quell the storms in our hearts. When we trust in the Lord with all of our hearts we need to trust God with what is IN our hearts.

A divided heart can lead to a divided church. Spiritually healthy hearts can lead to a healthy church. Unity is not done to us. Unity is done by us. Unity can begin (or end) with you and me. We are the times in which we live.

Psalm 133 tells us that it is pleasant when brothers and sisters can live together in harmony. According to the Bible, what is unity and how do we achieve it?

On Wednesdays during June, July, and August, Pastor Jeff will be leading a discussion of two of C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. While these amazing stories were written for children, they provide opportunities for exploring the theological riches of our faith.
