New data has revealed West Australians earning minimum wage are spending nearly two thirds of their income on rent.

Since 2020, the median weekly rent for a house in WA has risen by more than $200 to $580 a week, which represents a jump from 49 per cent to 67 per cent of a low income worker's weekly wage.
