The NFL Draft is here and we dive into our picks and thought process going into the big day. As always, "Where we at?" starts off this episode with a SJ Sharks update and our "Slackers of the Week" close it out. And of course, we had to squeeze in MadBum's 7 Inning no-no.
It has been a wild week in West and for us at West Coast Bias. Between baseball digging in, Steph being Steph, and the rumors flying about the NFL draft; our "Where we at?" segment is packed. Plus, stay tuned in at the end of the episode for our hap tip to some bay area legends who passed a milestone, and one who hung up the cleats.
Baseball is officially back and we are more than excited to get into what has already happened. We took a week off so catch up with your teams with our "Where We At?" segment at the beginning of the episode before we dive into this MLB season. And as always, our "Slackers of the week" are back to some familiar names.
Week 2 of "Where We At?" kicks off the discussion with the Warriors trade deadline moves, followed a preview of what the season will look like for the Giants. This week's "Entree" discussion dives into the trades that have taken place leading up to the draft and what that means as the 49ers now hold the #3 overall pick. In the MLB, rules seem to get changed in favor of the casual fan. From moving the mound back to runners on base in extra innings, what's the end goal? Meanwhile in the NBA, rules tend to change around the landscape of the talent. Wilt Chamberlin changed the rules because of his dominance and it makes us wonder what this generation of basketball player's impact will be?
The closest thing to the real life Avengers, we have NBA Super-teams. Superstars teaming up with other superstars in hopes of netting themselves a ring. We've seen them start to become more and more common in today's NBA but there were some "O.G's" that paved the way for it to become what it is today. In today's NBA, we have some Super-teams vying to establish themselves as the best to ever do it.
In the MLB, pitchers and catchers report this week so we are more than thrilled at the chance to talk Baseball! First off, to get some context on this offseason, we get into past off-seasons. From infamous trades that haunted teams for decades, to teams who overpaid for what they thought would be the next best thing. Today, teams in the west continue to pay out for Star names and change the landscape of the MLB.
Lastly, in the NBA, we give you some early MVP candidates with the representing the creme of the crop!
