Jesus understood the importance of taking care of one's body. We see that in the times when Jesus touches someone and heals them. But we also see it in the prominence that eating meals together takes in Jesus' life. We practice that, too, in our service of communion.

Have you ever not made it to church on Sunday because you just didn't have it all together? The beatitudes describe those who are in pain, trouble, and on the outs. Those are the people who are particularly blessed. Is that what Jesus' congregation looks like? Isn't church a place where we can share our brokenness?
