Over the past few weeks we've learned how the Word of God provides life. This week we see that the Word illuminates our way so we don't stumble in the dark places. (Ps 119:105)

The "sword" (Word of God), is not only powerful and able to protect us, but it is also described as being alive and active. What can the Word of God do?

It is interesting how the "breath" of God is described in the Bible as being able to give life, understanding, strength and order. How is this power different from the "bread of heaven" and the "living water" that we also receive?

When Moses and the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, they cried out for water. It was provided from a rock. Jesus talks about building houses on rock so the floods don't wash them away. What is the meaning when the Bible talks about water and rock?

In the Bible, the Book of John describes Jesus as the "Word of God". Later in the same book, John reports Jesus describing himself as the "bread of life". What is the connection between these two statements?

There are so many things in this world that can trap us and draw us away from God. Paul teaches Timothy to honor God, withdraw -- even flee (literally, run away) from things that could trap him and guard that which has been entrusted to him.

The Bible speaks of the Lord doing more than we could even imagine or ask for -- so long as what we ask for would bring glory to Jesus.
