This week Mark explores anxiety and fear in today’s world, and invites us to ground ourselves in Jesus. Using John’s Gospel, it traces Jesus’ “I am” statements (bread of life, light of the world, gate, good shepherd, resurrection and the life, the way truth and the life, and the true vine) to show who Jesus is and how faith in him brings peace, direction, and spiritual nourishment. We also look at Thomas’ confession, “My Lord and my God,” encouraging us to move beyond vague belief and into a confident, lived trust in Jesus.
