Westgate Chapel Sermons

At the time of Christ's birth... God's people were praying and hoping for a miracle. There world was turned upside down and they were longing for someone to save them. Sound familiar? What we will find in today's sermon, is that the miracle given to God's people, is the same answer we need today... The miracle of God becoming a man and dwelling among us!

Today's service has been planned as a special time of prayer and worship for our church family as a response to our last two weeks of teaching in our series "A Praying Church." We encourage you to print the notes ahead of time, grab a pen and your Bible, and find a quiet place to watch, pray and worship!

"Why pray if God already knows what will happen?" "Why pray if God knows what you will say?" "Why pray if God is going to do what He wants anyway?" -- If you are like most people... you've wrestled with these types of questions when it comes to prayer. Maybe you are even wrestling with them now! In this weeks message, Pastor Rob answers the question, "What Good Does Prayer Do Anyway?" Listen in as we talk about the true point of prayer and it's powerful purpose for our lives.

Much of the Christian life has become about what we experience or get out of it... rather than being about WHO we are meant to commune with. It was David Platt who said: "The primary purpose of prayer is not to get something... but to know someone." Yet it seems that in our Christian culture today, the greatest pandemic the church may be facing is a pandemic of prayerlessness. In this weeks message, Pastor Rob takes us to Luke 10:38-42 and challenges us to "choose the better portion."
