The empty tomb becomes for us a symbol of living out the abundnat life in Jesus Christ.  We are invited to release our fears and concerns knowing that Jesus goes before us and leads us into the loving arms of Abba, our compassionate Father.

In the last days of Jesus' life we observe a number of responses to his teaching and person ranging from rejection to devotion.  As we specifically reflect upon the woman who anointed Jesus with the expensive nard we are invited to reflect upon our own devotion and passion in following our gentle Lord.

Jesus comes to us as a gentle Lord even as he entered Jerusalem n a meek and humble way.  He never forces himself upon us but only woos us by his tender love.  Such an elusive Christ requires us to take responsibility for our actions - we must decide to say 'yes' to enter into his ocean of love.

Bonnie re-introduces us to a number of her friends from the Weston neighbourhood.  Listen to their inspiring stories that proclaim ... "the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ."

The preacher continues his teaching on seeking a life of wisdom and not settling for a life of superficiality - such wisdom sees all of life as a piece characterized by patience, righteousness, hope and the effective use of one's time.

The preacher continues his contrast between a life 'under the sun' and a life 'under the hand of God'.  He addresses the theme of wealth and advises us to 'walk well through life' and not to 'run after gain'.

The ‘under the sun’ mentality is characterized by oppression and ego-centred desires.  The ‘Preacher‘ encourages his listeners to forsake such a path and pursue one which builds community and justice for all.

Within this unit the author contrasts a closed circuit ‘under the sun’ mentality with an open circuit ‘under heaven’ perspective which draws the individual into a life lived in relationship with the Creator God.
