The wisdom teacher contrasts the wicked with the righteous and argues that the root of the righteous provides both strength and fruitfulness to the lives of the righteous ones.

The wisdom teacher calls us to place our trust in God rather than trusting in our own preferences. As we do so our Father will direct our ways and we will benefit from his blessings.

Paul concludes his letter to the Ephesians by recognizing the power of evil and the resistance it manifests in our spiritual journey. There is a need to be aware of this "shadow side" and to overcome it by putting on the virtues of Christ.

Paul is convinced that Christ has a passionate love for his church - so much so that he employs wedding imagery to depict Christ's love for his bride, the church.
