As we continue this Advent series we arrive at Gabriel's encounter with Mary, an encounter that reveals the wonder of how the Creator became creation and the Word became flesh.

As we begin this Advent Series we look at Gabriel's exchange with Zechariah that reminds us that when God came in flesh He came to enter our barrenness, fulfill His promises and press in on our doubts.

Although the story of Tamar and Judah is a strangely unique one it reminds us of how God breaks through our sin by the sending of His Son.

Few stories are more well known than Daniel and Lion's Den yet perhaps not as appreciated as it should be in its foreshadowing of Jesus.

The book of Esther doesn't mention God one time. Yet, He is all and everywhere in her story. This message considers the many ways God shows up in spite of His invisibility and what that means for us.

When we are first introduced to Joseph he was seventeen years old. He lived with his family in the land of Canaan and was spoiled rotten by his father, because he was the first son born to his father's greatly loved wife,Rachel. Not surprisingly, one brother finding more love in the eyes of their father than ten others created a very tense and embittered environment in the home.

The story of Sarah is a very interesting one. She isn't the primary focus of the texts that tell us about her and all of the interactions with do have with her display a general weakness of character. And yet God uses the story of this barren woman to highlight His grace. Over and over again we see that God is the hero of Sarah's story and through it we're compelled to trust Him with our own.

As we look at the story of one of the Old Testament's most famous characters we will see a man who pursues God above all else and a man who fails in his pursuit of God regularly. We'll examine the source of David's greatness and of David's failings. In the end we will consider how a man like him could've been described as a man after God's own heart.
