Westside Murray Sermons

Encountering Jesus gives us a new identity. And as we have been made something new by the magnificent work of Jesus, then we must be a new and changed creation.

Through this encounter with Jesus we will see that in the face of failure and unbelief, we must turn our attention to Jesus and depend on His power through prayer. Mark 9:14-29

When Jesus called his disciples, he chose people that others would not have chosen, because Jesus came to build a kingdom that others could not build. Mark 2:13-17

What if the “somebody” God is calling to act is you? In this message from Esther 4, Blake Shuecraft of The Salt Network shares how God positions ordinary people for His extraordinary purposes, even in circumstances they would never choose. Through Esther’s story, we are reminded that obedience doesn't require certainty about the outcome, but faith in the God who holds it all together. Discover how trusting Christ gives us the courage to take the next faithful step, even when we don't know what comes next.

As we walk through this encounter between Jesus and Peter we will see how Jesus restores and challenges Peter, ultimately to reveal to us how we too have been set apart for his work.

Sometimes, our coming to Christ has a lot of hurdles we have to get past before we find life in Jesus. Join us as we look to the encounter that Jesus has with Thomas following his resurrection and see what this passage shows us about how Jesus meets us in our doubts.

We can often become distracted by many things, even good things, while forgetting what is most important: Jesus Himself. Luke 10:38-42

As we dissect a story that seems odd at face value, we will see that as Jesus deals with the Canaanite woman every action is different than we would expect, but he reveals to us something greater that we can’t always see.

The realities of life have a tendency to leave us sitting beside pools of wishful thinking, and Jesus alone brings lasting healing and real hope. John 5:1-17

Cleansing happens when we come to Jesus aware of our condition & with faith that He can make us clean.  Luke 5:12-16.
