"The Power of a Father's Voice: Speaking Truth, Love, and Life"

This Father’s Day, we’re turning our ears to the voice of God the Father. In the Gospels, God speaks audibly three times—at Jesus’ baptism, on the Mount of Transfiguration, and during Passion Week. Each moment offers a glimpse of the Father’s heart and sets a pattern for how godly men are called to speak into the lives entrusted to them.

*And when Jesus was baptized, immediately He went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’ *— Matthew 3:16–17

We celebrate and honour the fathers, husbands, and men among us who reflect the strength, tenderness, and truth of the Father. Their voice matters, and the way they lead in word and presence leaves a legacy of life and faith.

Take time to reflect: *What does the Father’s voice teach us about how we are called to speak? How might your words bring identity, encouragement, and spiritual clarity to those God has placed in your life?*

Misunderstanding God: Navigating Scripture with Love and Liberty

We're heading into our "Summer Shred" Bible Reading Challenge beginning June 15th. That can lead to misunderstanding what God is doing and saying. Pastor Lucas Chance give us some key strategies to overcome challenges and stay motivated during the summer Bible reading initiative:

1. Don't feel guilty if you miss reading or can't complete the entire daily reading. There are no merit badges or heavenly rewards for perfect completion.

2. Approach the reading with the right perspective:
- Look for God's love and freedom in the text
- Try to understand the deeper principles behind the scriptures
- Be open to learning and potentially discovering new insights

3. Recognize that reading the Bible is a discipline and can be challenging. It's normal to find it difficult to read for an hour each day.

4. Use available resources like audio Bibles if traditional reading is challenging.

5. Remember the goal is not just to complete a reading challenge, but to grow in understanding of God's nature and principles.

6. Be patient with yourself and view this as an opportunity for spiritual growth, not a strict obligation.

7. Consider finding an accountability partner or joining a group study to help maintain motivation and discuss what you're learning.

The key is to approach the "summer shred" with curiosity, grace, and a desire to understand God more deeply.

In John 5, Jesus heals a man who had suffered for thirty-eight years. When questioned, the man cannot explain what happened. He only knows that everything changed. Jesus later says, My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working (John 5:17).

On this Sunday's episode, we’ll be reminded that God is never inactive. Even when we cannot see it, His providence is unfolding. Christ’s work is not limited to the miraculous but includes sustaining grace in the ordinary.

Take time to reflect: Do I trust God is working, even when I cannot trace His hand? Let us rest in the truth that the Father and Son are always at work for His glory and our good.

Unchecked Boxes: Faith in the Face of the Unknown

After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to many, taught about the kingdom of God, and prepared His disciples for the mission ahead. On this Sunday's episode, we’ll turn to Acts 1 and 2, where the risen Christ ascends to heaven and His mission continues. The disciples are now empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry the gospel forward.

As we reflect on the beginnings of the Church, we are reminded that the same Spirit who empowered the apostles now lives in us. The call remains. The sending continues.

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses —Acts 1:8

Take time to reflect: What is God calling you to walk in obedience to today? Are there places where He is asking you to wait and places where He is now calling you to go?

This  Easter Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope that now defines us. Jesus brought more than wise teaching, miracles or political upheaval. He brought new life. He restored what was broken between God and man. His victory over the grave secured our living hope. This Sunday we will remember the death of death and rejoice in the relationship made possible through Christ.

As we consider the grace poured out at the cross and the victory declared at the empty tomb, ask yourself: Is my heart shaped by gratitude for His sacrifice? Are there areas of my life still needing to come under the power of His resurrection?

Tom Birch takes us through John chapter 6 as we reflect on the weight of the cross and Christ’s sacrificial love. We remember that His sacrifice was intentional. “I shall lose none of all those he has given me but raise them up at the last day” (John 6:39). Through His body broken and His blood poured out, we come to the table and remember the mercy that secured our place with Him forever.

Pastor Lucas Chance: All four Gospels record Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and highlight it as a decisive unveiling of the promised King. He does not ride in on a war horse but on a donkey. He comes in humility, not conquest. The crowd shouts “Hosanna” and calls Him the Son of David, a title loaded with national expectation. They longed for political liberation rather than spiritual salvation.This moment reveals the tension between human desire and divine purpose. The same crowd that welcomed Him would soon cry out for His crucifixion. It reminds us how easily we can follow a version of Jesus shaped by our own desires rather than by the truth of who He is.Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry that lead to the cross and resurrection. As we remember this, we invite you to read and reflect on the Gospel accounts this week: Matthew 21:1–11, Mark 11:1–11, Luke 19:28-44, and John 12:12–19.

On today's episode Pastor Lucas Chance takes us to the end of John 4, where we meet a royal official who comes to Jesus in desperation. His son is dying, and he begs for help. Jesus does not go with him. He simply speaks. “Go. Your son will live.” The man believes. He walks away with no sign or proof, only the word of Jesus.

The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. – John 4:50

Take time to reflect: Are we willing to trust Jesus without seeing the outcome? As we open the Word together let’s ask God to help us walk in quiet confidence, not based on what we see but on what He has said.

Reaping the Harvest: Embracing Jesus' Urgency in His Mission - Tyler Alspaugh

Continuing our time in John 4, Jesus challenges His disciples to have the same fervour and drive that He had—to go forth and do the work of the Kingdom. His mission was clear, and He calls us to see with the same urgency.

Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. – John 4:35

Take time to reflect: Are we going through our lives simply sowing seeds, or are we stepping out and actively reaping the harvest? As we open the Word together, let’s ask God to align our hearts with His mission.
