Manasseh was one of the most wicked kings in the history of Judah. He reigned 55 years. He sacrificed his own children. He filled the temple with idols. Scripture says he made things worse than the nations God had driven out before Israel ever arrived.

And God forgave him.

Josiah became king at eight years old. His grandfather had spent 55 years filling the land with pagan shrines and false gods. His father was assassinated after two years. By any measure, he inherited the worst possible spiritual legacy.

What happened next is one of the most unexpected turnaround stories in all of Scripture. A young king with nothing to build on became the starting point for national revival — because he sought God himself, tore down what his grandfathers had built, and discovered a forgotten Bible in the rubble of the temple. When Josiah heard it read, he tore his clothes.

Whatever spiritual legacy has been passed to you — whether it's something broken, something missing, or something that needs to stop — Josiah's story says the same thing God said to him: it came to you, but it doesn't have to go through you.
