Have you heard ?

There seems to be a belief out there that "wet balayage" (Applying your lightener to wet hair instead of dry hair) allow you to lighten the hair faster.

If speed is your only concern , then , you do you !

However , there are a few things you might want to know.

1. When hair is wet , it is in it's weakest state, because it has lost 1/3 of it's strength (Hydrogen bonds) and this make it very susceptible to more damage than it normally exposed to. Imagine pulling or stretching wet hair and then applying the most aggressive solution in hair color to that stressed fiber.

2. Using lightener on wet hair will exponentially increase damage ! Even though you may not see it.....don't believe me , do a tensile strength test on the hair after the lightening service and see for yourself.

3. Science teaches us that water will actually dilute the action of a bleach mixture by affecting the developer. Not the powder.
