When the native American tribes first encountered european settlers they for the most part ,  received them with curiosity and intrigue , unaware of the abuses that were to follow …

But something that did become apparent to these tribes early on , was that the lighter skinned  “civilised “settlers had a very different way about them  .

Observable  in their behaviour and actions was a selfish disregard for eachother and the desire to possess nature and its resources as there own .

Its said that the natives called this condition wetiko , and it meant an evil spirit had possession of the minds of men polluting their spirits , a condition we might call today a mind virus ,

They  didn’t use such a metaphor   but many other well regarded thinkers writers  philosopher’s and practitioners have entertained similar concepts that suggest

mankind may in fact be under some kind of spell
