“The Karate Kid” is on the heels of celebrating its 35th anniversary. The second season of the popular “Cobra Kai” series debuts on YouTube Red on April 24

What better time for T.J. and Jay to feature the iconic tale of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and his rivalry with John Lawrence (William Zabka) and the Cobra Kai including Bobby, Dutch, Tommy and the others led by sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove).

The story began when Daniel and his mom Lucille move cross country from Newark to southern California where he encounters Mr. Miyagi, the man who would become his best friend and father figure. Daniel also develops a relationship with Ali Mills (Elisabeth Shue), leading to his being taunted and bullied by her ex boyfriend and his loyal group of friends that culminates in the showdown at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Championship.

The saga continues to present day where John Lawrence has re-opened the Cobra Kai dojo and Daniel LaRusso is the owner of a successful car dealership and while the times have changed, the rivalry is as intense as ever.

So get station wagon rolling, pop the clutch and revisit “The Karate Kid” while getting ready for season two of “Cobra Kai” on April 24th.
