“The Karate Kid” is on the heels of celebrating its 35th anniversary. The second season of the popular “Cobra Kai” series debuts on YouTube Red on April 24

What better time for T.J. and Jay to feature the iconic tale of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and his rivalry with John Lawrence (William Zabka) and the Cobra Kai including Bobby, Dutch, Tommy and the others led by sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove).

The story began when Daniel and his mom Lucille move cross country from Newark to southern California where he encounters Mr. Miyagi, the man who would become his best friend and father figure. Daniel also develops a relationship with Ali Mills (Elisabeth Shue), leading to his being taunted and bullied by her ex boyfriend and his loyal group of friends that culminates in the showdown at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Championship.

The saga continues to present day where John Lawrence has re-opened the Cobra Kai dojo and Daniel LaRusso is the owner of a successful car dealership and while the times have changed, the rivalry is as intense as ever.

So get station wagon rolling, pop the clutch and revisit “The Karate Kid” while getting ready for season two of “Cobra Kai” on April 24th.

The star is Bruce Willis. The setting is the Three Rivers in Pittsburgh. The movie is “Striking Distance.”

Someone is dumping bodies in the rivers where Tom Hardy (Willis) will find them while on patrol for River Rescue, a position he was demoted to following his testifying against his partner and cousin Jimmy Detilo amidst the search for a serial killer known as the Polish Hill Strangler. Hardy thought the suspect was a cop and went as far as telling the media his theory, thus leading to his demotion.

His new partner, officer Jo Christman (a pre-“Sex and the City” Sarah Jessica Parker) joins him in the search for the killer en route to a series of plot twists that lead to an intense conclusion.

“Sixteen Candles” is turning 35 years old!

The classic 1984 comedy about Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald) dealing with her family forgetting her 16th birthday amidst the craziness of her older sister’s wedding weekend and her own love life that includes her crush on dream guy, senior Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling) while fending off the advances of the freshman known as Farmer Ted (Anthony Michael Hall).

It’s special double feature week for our 80s and 90s movies podcast for the #FinalFour. We already brought you the Indiana high school basketball classic, “Hoosiers” starring Gene Hackman. The latest ‘We’ve Seen That!’ is on a movie that takes fans behind the action in Hollywood as Miami loan shark Chili Palmer travels to Los Angeles to collect on a debt only to find himself smack dab in the middle of the movie business in 1995’s “Get Shorty.”

John Travolta won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his portrayal of Chili Palmer who, while attempting to collect a debt from B-movie producer Harry Zimm (Gene Hackman), essentially pitches his a movie that is a story in progress.

With the help of actress Karen Flores (Rene Russo), Palmer lands A-list actor Martin Weir (Danny DeVito) to play the lead role in his movie and this is all while fending off drug dealers and mobsters who are all after $500,000 that is stashed in a locker at LAX.
