  • Galatians 2:19 (program 17)

"For through the law, I died to the law, so that I might live for God."

The law served its rightful purpose--it was Paul's schoolmaster, or guardian (and ours) to lead us to Christ. (Gal 3:24)

  • Galatians 2:17-18 (program 16)

Today Paul encourages us to forget those things which are behind, seeing that we have been crucified with Christ.

Gal 2:17-18 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. (18) For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

  • Galatians 2:16 (program 15)

Gal 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

Today we look at the question, "Whose faith? His, or ours?" Is it the faith of Christ, or faith in Christ? Join us today for the Gospelstudy podcast!

  • Galatians 2:14 (program 13)

Today on Gospelstudy we find Paul the Apostle calling Peter down on the carpet, and made this statement to him: "Why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?" (2:14)

Have you ever met anyone who has done this? A serious, serious breach of our freedom in Christ, which Paul took very seriously, enough to call out another Apostle, in public, and made a public example of!

  • Where do you go in times of trouble? (part 1 of 2)

Preached at Island Community Church on March 24th, 2013.

Taken from 1 Samuel chapter 30, verses 1-6.

1Sa 30:1-6 Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, (2) and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. (3) So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. (4) Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. (5) And David's two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. (6) Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.
