Preached at Island Community Church, Feb. 3rd, 2013. 40 minute sermon, divided into 2 programs.
In this sermon, we look at both the Lord Jesus' answer to this question, as well as the Apostle Paul's.
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Hate that which is evil. Cleave to that which is good." Join us today for the Gospelstudy podcast!
We are looking at 7 spiritual gifts in this passage:
Prophecy
Serving
Teaching
Exhorting
Giving
Leading
Showing Mercy
Today we look at the spiritual gifts of exhortation, and ministry.
Rom 12:6-8(6) Having then gifts differing according to the grace having been given to us, let us use them: whether prophecy, let us prophecy according to the proportion of faith;(7) whether ministry, let us use it in our ministry; whether teaching; in the teaching;(8) whether exhorting, in the exhortation; whether sharing, with simplicity; whether leading, with diligence; whether showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
Today we consider what the word "prophecy" means. Join us!
4 For just as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace having been given to us, let us use them: whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
We continue in this verse (12:3) today, considering the words, "Not to think of ourselves to highly, beyond what we should think."
Today Paul writes, "For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself too highly, beyond what you should think, but to think soberly, as God has imparted to each one a measure of faith."
Today we are still in verse 2, and we look at the teaching, "be transformed, by the renewing of your mind."
What does the word 'transform' mean? Find out today on the Gospelstudy podcast!
