Father Michael Calabria, a Friar who serves on the faculty of St. Bonaventure University - who is visiting Carthage College this week - talks about his great interest in Islam and Islamic Art and Architecture .... including the Taj Mahal. 

Molly Fletcher became a sports agent in the highest levels of professional sports at a time when it was exceedingly rare for a woman to do so.   Her list of clients included Hall of Fame pitcher Dave Smoltz.  She is coming to speak at the campus of Carthage College on Monday, November 7th at 12 noon, for the Spotlight on Sports Series.   (The event is free and open to the public - but you must register in order to attend.  You can find info about registering for the event at Carthage.edu.) 

Neil Scharnick, Associate Professor of Theater at Carthage College, talks about the latest play in their remarkable New Play Initiative .....  "Memento Mori." created in collarboation with West End School of the Arts in Killarney, Ireland.  The play explores profound issues of life, death, and mortality.  The title of the play is a well-known Latin phrase which means "remember that you must die."  The play is performed the next two weekends at Carthage.  

We talk about the Racine Theater Guild's current production,  DROP DEAD by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Millmore, which opened last weekend and runs for two more weekends.  I speak with Shawn Britten, the director of the production, and Ed Steckley, who portrays Victor Le Pewe, the ego-driven director of the play-within-the-play.  (Some washed up actors are attempting to achieve a comeback with a murder-mystery play that unexpectedly becomes a real-life murder mystery.)
