Brian Schoettler talks about the organ recital he will be playing at the Kemper Center Chapel on Saturday night.  It's a fundraiser for a group of Kemper alumni who are hoping to underwrite some renovation work at Kemper, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

From 2014- Bruce Meltzer, author of "I am Rosa Parks."  This one of the first books in the author's acclaimed children book series titled "Ordinary People Change the World."  There are now 31 books in the series, with profiles of notable people such as Abraham Lincoln, Amelia Earhart, Jackie Robinson, Helen Keller, Neil Armstrong, Jim Henson, Harriet Tubman, and Lucille Ball.  

Keanon Lowe, author of "Hometown Victory: a Coach's Story of Football, Fate and Coming Home."  Lowe was an assistant coach in the NFL - in his mid-twenties - when he decided to return to his hometown of Portland, Oregon and began coaching a struggling high school football team with a 23-game losing streak. He turned the team around- and then achieved unexpected fame when he thwarted a would-be mass shooter at the school. 

From 2019 - Mark Beach, author of "The People's Team: An Illustrated History of the Green Bay Packers." 

Best-selling author Dan Hampton talks about his latest book:  "Valor: The Astonishing World War II Saga of One Man's Defiance and Indomitable Spirit."  It's the true story of a U.S. Marine, Lieutenant William Harris, who was captured by the Japanese, escaped, and was captured again - but managed to survive. 

In the wake of Carthage College's national championship in men's volleyball,  we look back with the late Tim Rucks, longtime football coach, to the 2004 season when the football team advanced to the national championship game.  

From 2006 -  We talk about volunteering in the third world with Dr. Peter Emer (who operates Emer Eye Center in Kenosha)  and Dr. Roger Lindberg, a former member of the biology faculty at Carthage College.  Emer talks about providing eye care in the Dominican Republic - and Professor Lindberg talks about taking a group of Carthage students to offer medical care in rural Nicaragua.
