  • What Are You Doing Here? Educators: Introduction

Welcome to the introductory episode of the What Are You Doing Here? Podcast with Dr. Jacynth Joyce.

This question was once posed to me by a colleague, and it radically changed my life and the way I viewed my life's work, faith, and purpose as an educator and coach. Now, I have the opportunity to pose that same question to you:

    What are you doing here?

This question is about more than your career. It is about identity, faith, purpose, belonging, contribution, and calling. It invites you to reflect more deeply on who you are, why you are here, and the impact you are uniquely positioned to make, without telling you what your answer should be.

I believe that when educators recognize that they already possess the capacity to create meaningful change, they begin to become the very change our schools, communities, and world so desperately need.

So, whether you arrived here intentionally, stumbled across this podcast, or are still trying to figure out exactly what you are doing here, I am glad you are here.

Welcome to What Are You Doing Here? Let's discover the answer together.

Has someone ever asked you, "What are you doing here?" Or, better yet, have you ever asked yourself, "What am I doing here?"

If you are anything like me, this question has come up more times than I can count on both hands. Yet, as simple as it sounds, it is a profound question that can shape how we understand who we are, why we are here, and how we show up in our lives and work.

Throughout this podcast, I will explore this question with my guests as we reflect on identity, faith, purpose, and impact. I will share pieces of my own journey and how I got here, while creating space for you to reflect on how you got here, too.

So, what are you doing here?

    Let's discover the answer together.
