This week, I had the pleasure of speaking to journalist and former child actor, Reed Alexander. 

Reed has a unique story and I had great time listening to him share how he reinvented himself  as he went  from a CHILDHOOD STAR to pursuing his HIS PASSION IN JOURNALISM. Reed has broken some of the biggest Wall Street stories of 2021 and was first to report on junior banker raises and bonuses at firms like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Evercore, and Credit Suisse in 2021. Reed’s reporting has helped frame the civic conversation about burnout among young investment bankers. He has chronicled the ebb and flow of the all-important private-equity recruiting process from its first suspension in 2020 to its kickoff in September 2021.

Along the way, he’s quizzed some of the industry’s most influential dealmakers. At Insider, he occasionally covers human-interest stories relating to mental health and the coronavirus pandemic, like exploring the impact of nebulous messaging about school mask mandates on students, or the duress that frontline doctors in the state of Florida have experienced during the Delta variant’s alarming surge. Previously, Reed was a reporter at Dow Jones in New York and CNN International in Hong Kong. He holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, and a bachelor's degree from New York University.
