Ephesians 6: 14-15 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
We are moving along in our series, Armor of God: War Torn to Battle Born, and we'll be spending some time this week looking at the Shoes of Peace. Still using the imagery from Isaiah, Paul now moves on to the messenger of good news.
Usually, this is understood in terms of willingness (or ability) to share the good news of Jesus, but the meaning is much broader in scope. To prepare, to be ready, pertains to all aspects of life.
Knowledge of the gospel should make us alert (v.18) and ready for life. Our “on-the-job training” is simply life with Jesus!
It may seem difficult to share our stories or testimonies with others, but we can be like the Woman at the Well who simply said, "He told me everything I've ever done" to her fellow neighbors in Samaria. All we have to do is simply tell the story of God's redemption in our lives.
