What Chaplains Should Know about Psychedelic Medicines
In this webinar, our guests will offer a presentation for chaplains on psychedelic medicines, with a particular focus on psychedelics' potential application for end of life and palliative care (EOLPC) patients. The presentation will include an overview of data on psilocybin therapy for psychological distress in EOLPC.
Chaplains served as study clinicians in a recent clinical trial of psilocybin therapy at UCSF, and chaplains are now being included in more trials with EOLPC populations both at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Emory Healthcare. This presentation looks toward a future of greater openness to, and recognition of the benefits of, working with chaplains as the field of psychedelic medicine continues to grow.
