When he was a child, this story -- first encountered in his brother's copy of Strange but True: 22 Amazing Stories by Donald J. Sobol -- freaked Jim out...now he's passing it on to you, hoping to maybe exorcise his own hagriddenness...that is a word, right? If it ain't, it outta be!

In this episode, the boys discussed the Amish and Hillbilly flavors of magic practiced in the United States. Who knew the Amish -- those staid and stalwart pillars of community and religion -- practiced magic? Jim did, that's who! Oh, and Jim comes to realize that his own father just might have been a practitioner of Appalachian Granny Magic.

Even though it's nowhere near the night before Christmas, the boys spring into action, tear open the shutters, and throw up the sash in an effort to look into Window Areas.
