Sometimes, the hardest part isn't knowing what to do next. It's trusting God enough to actually do it.
In this episode, we're talking wordplay, coffee (yes, again), and even a quick round of Two Truths and a Lie. I also share why I want this podcast to feel more like a relaxed car ride with a friend than another voice telling you how to be more productive.
But we get into some deeper stuff, too.
I open up about a recent decision to invest in an executive coach, and the tension between taking a leap of faith and wanting to protect my family's financial security. A story about Mother Teresa offers a powerful reminder that sometimes what we're looking for isn't more clarity. It's more trust.
We also explore finding hope in the quiet moments. From prayer and solitude to an incredible illustration involving the northern lights, sometimes we need to step away from the noise to recognize what God has been showing us all along.
And finally, I share a moving scene from a Robin Hood film that completely reframed the idea of letting go, especially when it comes to grief:
"You're not letting go. You're simply not holding on anymore."
Because maybe moving forward doesn't mean leaving someone behind. Maybe it means learning to loosen our grip while never letting go of the love.
As always, the question is: What else is possible?

October 3rd marks the day we lost our daughter Ivy. It's been two years now, but some memories still feel incredibly fresh. There's a line from a movie that really captures this: “It was a long time ago.” “Not to you.” If you've experienced loss, you probably understand exactly what that means.
I continue sharing Ivy's story, picking up with the day after she passed away. I talk about waking up that morning, navigating the reality of grief, and how our family and neighbors helped us through those first days. I also share why I've made the decision to still love October, even though Ivy and my dad both passed away during that month, just one day apart on the calendar.
I reflect on God's timing surrounding Ivy's birth, Lynn's Facebook post, and a few things I've learned about being there for people who are hurting.
One of the biggest takeaways? Show up. If you're wondering whether to visit someone who's grieving or instead give them space – trust me – show up and be available. But there's more to it than just being in the room. I share a moment when I was surrounded by people yet still felt alone, and why being truly present—sometimes as simple as putting down your phone—can mean so much.
Whether you're walking through grief yourself or trying to support someone who is, I hope this conversation offers encouragement, perspective, and hope.

Whether you're feeling crushed—or crushing it—there's one question worth asking: What else is possible?
In this episode, I explore why a Possibility Mindset matters just as much in seasons of success as it does in seasons of struggle. How do we celebrate the wins, remain grateful, and still stay open to what God might have in store next?
I also share some personal updates, including the podcast's new name, my ongoing health journey, and a few surprising things I'm learning about coffee, sleep, and the benefits of getting outside for morning sunlight.
But the heart of this episode is something more personal: vulnerability, the need for validation, and the temptation to measure our worth by results. I open up about feeling unworthy to even record this episode, especially as I continue navigating life after losing Ivy.
And I share a powerful reminder I've been leaning into lately: Relinquish the outcome. Show up. Do the work. Be faithful with what's in front of you. And trust God with the results. Because sometimes the greatest breakthrough isn't in what we accomplish, but in learning to let go of what we can't control.

The most brutal sentence in a hospital isn’t loud, it’s calm: “We’re going to go ahead and call it.” I’m taking you into the hours after my daughter Ivy dies, when the room clears out, the machines keep hissing, and your brain tries to understand a world that seemed to come crashing down.
I talk about hugging Ivy, kissing her, apologizing, and feeling guilt that doesn’t care what the facts are. I share the moment Lynn sits in the hallway with a blank stare and asks, “Will I ever smile again?” and why my faith in God doesn’t erase the pain, but does give me something to grab when everything else is falling.
Then we get to the hard pivot: leaving Ivy at the hospital to go home to our other kids, walking into a house full of people from church, and discovering how grief attaches itself to sensory memories, like orange Gatorade, late-night prayers, and sleeping together on mattresses just to make it through. If you’re looking for honest conversations about trauma, grief, and what support can look like in real time, this one is for you.
Subscribe for the rest of this Ivy story, share this with someone walking through loss, and leave a review with the one line that helped you keep moving through the valley.

I just renamed the show to What Else Is Possible, and it isn’t a marketing tweak, it’s a statement of what I’m trying to live. I walk through how “possibility mindset,” “something greater is always possible,” and one simple question all point to the same practice: keep asking what else God can do when life feels limited. That leads straight into faith and scripture, and why I keep coming back to the truth that with God all things are possible, even when grief and loss are part of the story.
You’ll also hear what’s new behind the mic: upgraded studio gear, a faster setup for guest conversations, and a proper intro to my producer, Nathan Tompkins. From there I share a real-time update on my health journey, including years of midday energy crashes, lifelong sleep trouble, and the natural plan I’m testing right now. We talk hydration, supplements, “leaky gut,” detox, cutting dairy and grains, and yes, what I’m rethinking about coffee after years of instant.
Then we hit the road. I recap six speaking gigs in eleven days and the conversations that happen when I share the Ivy story in my keynote. People bring their own losses, their own questions, and sometimes their own “8” moments that feel like God’s fingerprints. We also wrestle with something practical and uncomfortable: how easy it is to judge others, and how I want to replace that reflex with compassion, prayer, and love.
If you’re navigating grief, rebuilding your health, or just trying to lead your life with more faith and courage, press play and stay with us. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more people can find the show, what else is possible for you right now?

A normal Thursday turned into a night our family will never forget. In Part 2 of Losing Ivy, I share the story of the night we lost our eight-week-old daughter, Ivy.
It started with a restaurant magic gig, a quick photo outside Starbucks, and the last time I saw Ivy alive as I buckled her into her car seat. While I was performing, life at home carried on as usual—dinner, a junior high girls Bible study, and Ivy going down for a nap.
Then came a phone call from my neighbor and a drive to Children’s Mercy Hospital. I share what happened in the ER, the prayers we prayed, and those final moments with Ivy.
This is our story of loss, faith, and trying to make sense of a night that changed our family forever.
Subscribe for the next part, and if you know someone walking through loss, please share this with them.

A single journal entry can expose what we’ve been carrying for years, and this one starts with a blunt two-word punch: “I hate.” I’m talking about the stuff that quietly drains us, even when life looks fine from the outside. The pressure of adult responsibilities, the complicated grief of watching your kids grow up, the grind of bills and tasks, the pull of jealousy and lust, the frustration of feeling behind, and yes, the temptation to chase a quick dopamine hit from podcast views and download numbers…not that I would know anything about that.
We also get practical about discipline and craft. As a magician and speaker, I share what it takes to stay “stage ready,” why I record and review my own keynote presentations, and how easy it is to misspeak when you’re thinking out loud. Those habits aren’t just about looking polished; they’re about stewardship, humility, and caring enough to get better. Did I mention humility?
Then we read straight from my journal and let it be what it is: a brain dump that turns into prayer and praise. The turning point is a question that changes everything: “How can I turn what I hate into what I love and give this all to God?” This takes us to gratitude, surrender, forgiveness, and why reframing burdens as blessings can be a mental reset. If you’re after spiritual growth, clearer thinking, and a fresh start, hit play baby.
Subscribe, share this with someone who needs a reset, and if the show helps, leave a review by answering this question – what’s one “burden” you’re ready to hand to God today?

A late-night scare can jolt you awake in a way you never forget. One moment we’re preparing for another home birth with a midwife and the familiar water birth tub, and the next we’re in the hospital hearing words like placenta disruption and emergency C-section. If you’ve ever lived through medical uncertainty, pregnancy anxiety, or the raw fear of not being able to control what happens next, this story will feel painfully familiar.
I walk through the full timeline of Ivy Eloise Henderson’s birth, including a first late-night ER trip, the strange decision to go home, and the tension of keeping a work commitment while your mind runs to worst-case scenarios. Along the way, I talk about what actually helps when you’re spiraling: prayer, community, and the kind of faith that doesn’t wait for a tidy ending to find peace. I also share how something as simple as answering “How many kids do you have?” becomes part of the grieving process when one of your children is in heaven.
Ivy was born at 5:59 AM (a little fact-checking was necessary here haha) healthy and beautiful, and I reflect on the joy of new life while staying sensitive to listeners facing infertility, miscarriage, and other forms of loss. Then I zoom out to the harder truth: we only had eight weeks with her, and grief keeps showing up at would-be milestones. I close with what I'm learning about storytelling, journaling, and Christian hope, including the mysteries of heaven and why I keep trusting Jesus through it all. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs hope, and leave a review with the one line that helps you keep going when life hurts.

I want this podcast to feel like real life, not a perfectly packaged speaker talking, so we start where we actually are: coffee, tea, a half-built “cowboy-ish” setup, and a little bit of rambling while we settle in. Behind the jokes is a serious intention, though. I’m building the Possibility Mindset Podcast as a warm, honest space that grows organically over time, where we can start small, start ugly, and still end up somewhere beautiful.
You’ll hear a few life updates that matter more than they seem at first. We celebrate my daughter Claire landing her EMT job, and I share why that moment hit me so hard as a dad. I also recap a wedding reception in Kansas City at Swope Park and the reminder it brings: community and gratitude can carry you when life feels heavy. Along the way, I mention my book What Else Is Possible and why storytelling has become a surprising form of healing for me and connection for others.
Then we get to the core of what this show is going to be about. I say it clearly: I’m a Christian, and this podcast is going to be rooted in Jesus. That faith shows up as I talk about grief, including a recent funeral for a 20-year-old in our extended church community and how losing my daughter Ivy continues to shape me almost two years later. I also share a practice that’s changing my mornings, Scripture, journaling, and prayer, plus a small moment with a spider web that turned into a bigger reflection on creation and attention. Next time, we begin Ivy’s story from the beginning, starting with her birth.
If you want a Christian podcast about resilience, grief, leadership, and hope that doesn’t fake perfection, you’re in the right place. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review with the biggest takeaway you want to carry into your week.

Two years can change everything.
After a break, I’m bringing back the Possibility Mindset Podcast with real life, real grief, and a deeper kind of hope than I knew how to talk about before.
In this episode, I share the update I never got to give: the birth of our daughter Ivy on August 8, 2024, and losing her to SIDS just eight weeks later. I talk about what it looks like to keep moving when your world gets rocked, how our Christian faith carried us through unimaginable loss, and why I still believe something greater is always possible.
I’ll also catch you up on some incredible changes in our family and my work—from welcoming our ninth baby (was it another girl? Find out!) to a new book, a new chapter in my speaking career, and even performing at the World Cup in Kansas City.
And underneath all of it is one question that continues to take on deeper and deeper meaning for me:
What else is possible?
If you’re walking through loss, pursuing something bigger, or simply need some hope for whatever comes next, this episode is for you.
