You know what’s harder than opening your eyes to what God has done already?

Opening your eyes to what God is doing today.

Right here. Right now. In the present moment.

The nation of Israel couldn’t see what God was doing in the desert because it wasn’t as miraculous as the Red Sea.

They were hungry and tired and frustrated in the moment.

So, God decided to give them bread.

But He only told them to gather enough for today.

Sounds a lot like Jesus’ prayer He taught us:

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

Maybe God has been trying to teach and train and form His people across generations to open their eyes. To open their eyes to what He is doing in the present moment. And to know that He is our provider, today.

Not just in the past.

Not just in the future.

But today.

In Him, there will always be bread for today.
