Psalm 137 verses one through four tells us a very important story about the lives of the Jewish people when they were carried away captive into Babylon. And this is what the scripture says beginning with verse one: by the rivers of Babylon there we sit down, yay, we web, when we remembered Zion. We hanged up our hearts upon the willows and the Midsts there of. But there they that carried us away captive required of us a song, and they that wasted as required of us MIRTH, saying sing us one of the songs of Zion. Verse four says how shall we sing the lords song in a strange land? That question bears repeating: HOW can we SING the Lord’s song in a STRANGE land? If you’re familiar with the struggles of the children of Israel during those times, you know that because of disobedience and Idolatry, they were carried away into Babylonian captivity and the prophecies of the pass fulfilled at that time. And simply stated, they were bound and imprisoned and they were required to sing songs of Zion. I can think of a few Public figures who are in prison and are great singers. It’s some thing about prison that takes your voice away. Today, many are imprisoned in many different ways. They have lost their joy. They have lost their freedom they have lost their a song. If that’s you, may this episode of Mornings With Michelle speak to your heart. Time to get back your song!
