Travel back to 1884, when the province of British Columbia was abuzz with tales of a mysterious creature known as Jacko the Ape-Boy. Allegedly captured on the train tracks outside of Yale, Jacko was said to be half man and half beast, and some of the biggest names in cryptozoology and hominology have given their opinions on the Jacko story over the past 75 years. It’s a tantalizing mystery, but was Jacko ever real?

In 1892, a local excavation near Brunswick, GA, revealed a startling discovery: five skeletons buried in a small Indian mound, with one measuring between 8 and 9 feet tall. This find adds to a growing list of giant skeletons unearthed across North America, many within mounds attributed to Native American cultures. What could these giants represent? Are they medical anomalies, or perhaps evidence of hybridization with relict hominoid species?

In 1793, a South Carolina man documented an "Indian" term for a supposed Bigfoot: Chickly Cudly. In the 1990's, "Chickly Cudly" was incorrectly transliterated as a supposed Cherokee term "Kecleh Kudleh" meaning 'hairy man." My research shows that this is an incorrect transliteration of Chickly Cudly into the Cherokee language and provides the correct Cherokee term and translation.
