A military chaplain provides spiritual guidance to service personnel and their families. They serve country and God simultaneously. This is the embodiment of Luther's "Two Kingdoms" doctrine. A chaplain conducts worship and oversees Sunday school and other education programs in a manner consistent with his denomination. They bring church to military personnel, regardless of where they are deployed. Chaplains are a sanctuary of safety for service personnel and their families. They provide spiritual guidance and 100% confidential counseling. The vocation of chaplain offers a good environment for ministry and forgiveness. LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces is the organization that oversees Chaplain Bell.
