The pros and cons of both hotels catered accommodation and self-catering apartments which are very much on the increase in villages like Kaprun in Austria. With so many package holiday providers offering great half board deals it can sometimes work out more expensive to self cater but if you like to get out and experience the village and what its restaurants have to offer then maybe a hotel is not for you.
